Schubert, martin

(¤ 1896, † 1964) Dermatological training with A. Ruete in Marburg. 1927 Habilitation. In 1934, at the age of 38, appointment to the University Dermatological Clinic in Frankfurt/Main, as successor to O. Gans, who was removed from his post for racial-political reasons. Schubert had been a member of the NSDAP since 1932. He became a member of the SA in early March 1933, where he attained the rank of Sanitätsobersturmführer. Schubert was also a member of the NS Teachers' Association. He was a member of the board of the Medical Association of the Province of Hesse-Nassau. For the party he acted as a confidant at the medical faculty of the university. This function was also assigned to him in Frankfurt. During the war, he was in charge of a reserve hospital in Frankfurt/Main as a retired medical officer.

Schubert's scientific work is insignificant. He was discharged from academic service in 1945 and subsequently ran a specialist practice in Frankfurt/Main. Schubert's research focused moderately on light and X-ray treatment, gonorrhea, skin tuberculosis and skin infections, and during World War II on burns caused by phosphorus.
